banner ads problem

Anyone else having this occasional problem? (screenshot below)
It seems the vertical banner overhangs messages in some (but not all) threads. Resizing or refreshing the browser window doesn't seem to solve it. It only occurs within message threads; at forum and topic levels things are fine.

and they say there could be a forum update today!
we will see."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Seems to only affect gecko-based browsers (Mozilla, Epiphany, Firefox).
Opera's certainly free of it, and it's been alleged that various versions of IE render the page correctly, too. Konqueror seems to be OK, too, so I imagine Safari's quite happy.0 -
it still has problems in IE take this topic for example the side advert covers the screen shot as in the screen shot."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Ah, yeah. Epiphany and IceWeasel/Firefox do that, too. Opera shunts it down to the bottom of the page, which I'm happy with.
My guess is it's rooted in the page being of defined absolute width, and the huge image at the top (screenshot) is taking up more of that than it perhaps should, so there's nowhere for the advert.0 -
I've noticed generally awful rendering with Firefox. Some webpage elements tend to overlap, like controls/links at the top of the page.0

Really, if you're using Firefox there's no reason Bikeradar shouldn't look like this

If you're using Firefox, dealing with over-wide pages that spread under the ads is easy:
1) Install Stylish from here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108
b) Get the phpBB no-stretch style from here:
http://userstyles.org/styles/1340
iii) Be happy.John Stevenson0 -

Seems the have-a-go amateurs who run this forum haven't heard that pages viewed in Firefox and IE can behave differently. Suggesting that people install software to make their lives easier would be laughable anywhere else except here.
Why not employ web developers who know what they're doing? I know this is a bizarre concept, but if the system were coded better then problems like this might not occur.
Here's an even better idea: go back to college and complete your courses.0 -
this is happening on the imperial centuy a month thread using i.e.. why not get rid of the offending ad until the site works?0
