I'm sure this topic has been done to death already, but I can't seem to make any headway with the search facility on here.

I'm thinking about Endsleigh backpacker Insurance - they seem to be one of the market leaders - has anyone had experience of them good / bad?http://www.endsleigh.co.uk/scripts/servlet.cgi?policy=holiday;type=backpacker;agent=00179;icid=;CompanyID=;page=served/backpacker-insurance.html

Dont go with www.insureandgo.com they are cheap however when i got about £400 worth of stuff stolen in New Zealand they were not interested even though i had paid an extra premium to cover possesions.

Got out of it on a technicallity, that i could not prove 100% that they were locked away at the time they were stolen, and that i didnt have a reciept for my 2 year old Gore-tex jacket.

Fraudsters, happy to take your money, not so helpful when you claim. I wouldent have liked to have been in an accident.

Not sure about Endsleigh but make sure their policy covers you for being on the bike 24/7. A lot of policies only allow "incidental" bike touring, not as the bulk of your journey. We found the BMC (British Mounaineering Council or something like that, not the medical group) had a good deal on insurance. Not had to claim yet so can´t comment on after´sales service
