Trek 6500 or Spesh Rockhopper Disc?

They're both approx £650 and I'm very taken by both for XC riding. I'm swaying towards the Spesh.

All comments welcome please along with opinions on the 2 bikes.

    lol i think you got your answer in the poll. i am surprised at 100% but its a great bike and i hope to be byeing on very soon

    Thanks for your votes folks. I'm surprised. The Spesh is quite a bike and feels slightly lighter. The new 08 model 6500 has some good kit and includes Shimano Deore hyrdo discs which inspire more confidence in reliability than the Avids.

    What is making you folks keener on the Trek. Do you reckon there's much in it beyond personal choice?

    i think a lot of people just prefer the trek...looks....feel but yeah if the spesh feels better for you buy it. its not what other people things its down to you. i would say go for what feels better

    I'm going to see if the lbs can get both bikes in a large frame to try before buying.
