There are service guides, and oil amounts/weights in those. Download the appropriate one, and if you are still stuck, give us a shout and we can clarify any points.Shut up. And ride your bike.Originally posted by Jon

Cheers Dave,
soon as the oil arrives i shall have a go. Am i right in saying the damper is the
air side which looks quite straight forward to remove and clean and re- oil, how about the right side is that the same. any help would be great.

Air side (disc) is just spring, no damping. But there is oil AND Float fluid to keep everything lubed up. Make sure you get some float fluid too.
The damping side is the side that you have all the adjustments (obviously - or how else would you be able to make damping adjustments?) When you have taken the fork apart and have the damping cartridge in your hands, pump it a few times to make sure you get all the oil out of it, or you'll find there'll still be oil in it when you come to refill with new oil - in other words you'll end up with too much oil in the fork.Shut up. Thanks Guys,
got info i need i think i'll be fine now if i take my time0 -
If you've got enough oil, flush the damper with clean oil by putting the bottom of the unit in a container with fresh oil in, and pumping it through until it comes out clean at the top.
Then empty it again before the rebuild.
no point changing the oil if yer damper's full o' crud. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.0
