London Tour

Apparently Ken Livingstone has already put in a bid for the Tour d. F. to include London in the 2012-2014 edition, more likely the latter year. I like this attitude of not being deterred by the current scandals.
Livingstone would like the prologue again, but from a race viewpoint, I’d prefer it if the Tour starts that year somewhere like Besancon, so London is included underway in the first week after a few hilly stages in Alsace or the Ardennes.

I also think it makes sense for any politician interested in trying to promote cycling as a legitimate, alternative means of transport to ignore or counter the misbehaviour of a few professional cyclists. In this respect, I think Livingstone has a good approach, even if for him short-term economical aspects (Tour/tourist income) play a major role too.

Other than having a stage finish in London, the prologue is the only viable way to go.
