Retrofitting a shock in my LTS?

Hello again,
This is a question i've been pondering for a wee while now so here goes.....
My LTS-DH uses an antique (and still very plush) Rockshox Super Deluxe shock with the strange trunnion mount system, I've been thinking about buying in a standby in case of the inevitable but all of the ones I've seen are the coupe deluxe with a marginally shorter stroke (already bought one before i realised, still nicked the spring though). Does anyone know if its possible to retrofit a slightly longer and more modern shock to this trunnion or which shocks would be best 'adapted' to my needs?
Also, has anyone got an old 650x1.5 or 700x1.5 spring kicking around for a reasonable price?
Sorry for the long-winded question

As far i remember the trunion mount basically combined as the the preload collar, and just had the under shock mouint chopped off. so i'd have thought if you can find a shock where the body/tread are the same size you could theoretically use a diffent shock.
I would say your best best is have a word with betd or TFtuned and see if they know anything useful0
