Simple as that, just wondered if generally they got down and did hamstring stretches in the bus on the Plateau de B. Or is that the point of all the massaging?

I'm pretty sure they do - in fact I remember seeing riders stretching their hamstrings at last Saturdays TT while waiting on the start ramp (foot up on the saddle job - lean forward - and relax - ahhhh).

Massage helps to take some of the lactic acid and muscle damage out of sore legs, but still gotta stretch to keep flexible, especially for those ultra aero TT positions.

Do bears sh*t in the woods?
In short you need both. I ruptured a tendon behind my knee as a result of not doing enough stretching - I aint a pro either :D . Without stretching you loose flexibility and the load on the tendons and ligaments can get too big and ***ping****. So 20-30min stretching will aid recovery hugely and avoid injury! have a word with a physio/sports therapist or any good cycling training book for stretched. Also include your lower back
  • Yes, they stretch credibility and my patience to extremes.

Couldn't resist....... I'll get my coat.
