As it says on the tin, does anyone know if Chicksands flooded or affected by the floods?

I was up at chicksands a few days ago and its fine. There are a few puddles as you'd expect around the XC routes but from what I saw of the freeride area it looked fine. As its a pine forest the ground is quite sandy and very free-draining. Like the guys that run the freeride area say, its rideable in all weathers!Specialized Rockhopper '07

I'm a big fan of Chicksands, but the north shore area is not fully chicken wired, so i tend to avoid it after wet weather and concentrate on the awesome 4X, dual and Djs which tend to dry and drain very quickly

OMG- First time at Chicksands  8) .
I lurvved the place. I really gave some boot on the dual and learnt a few ideas to ride the 4x fast.
anyone have some tips for tackling the triple? I always absorbed the first bump, half manual'd the second and dropped/ pump the last one. i couldn't get my mojo.Too enthusiastic about biking for my friends...want to ride somewhere in the SE? For the triple, you have 3 options:
Pump them all
Jump the first two like a double, then pump the last one
Jump the whole lot at Warp Factor 20.
If you go for the triple, you have to be 110% committed, any slight braking or doubt on entry, and it will nail you, as I found out yesterday.Shut up. And ride your bike.Originally posted by Jon

I tend to manual the first couple then pump the last one, i never feel ive got enough speed to jump the first two, running XC tyres doesnt inspire much confidence when youre trying to pin it round that berm as it gets pretty dusty.0

Having enough speed for the double is easy; it doesn't even hurt if you short them. It's not getting the speed for the triple, that hurts!Shut up. And ride your bike.Originally posted by Jon
