[size=18]I went to m y local Specialized Concept store on Thursday. Anyway I tried a 56cm Allez Elite (the last one available in all sizes) Whilst the seat tube was ok I was a bit hunched up on the reach. He then showed me an Allez to try out in size 58cm now that was a perfect fit if I lowered the saddle, so I asked was it psssible for the stem to be replaced on the Elite he said no. So was he correct in this? I am 6ft 1 tall and have a 34inch leg so I am in the awkward camp. Ideally I think I would need a 57cm frame, which ain't available in the Allez.

Can't imagine why not - as far as I'm aware, the Spec has a standard A-headset type fork etc. You should be able to swap the stem for any length you want (most stems available from 90-140mm in 10mm increments).

Can be changed. My LBS changed mine for free when I purchased my Allez last year.

Think that it is just the Concept Store not being 'prepared' to change it.

was it last years model on sale? that may explain their reluctance to change it.
