PM 's..outbox,,,sent????

When I send someone a PM does it stay in my outbox till they read it then it becomes a sent item?

I have sent a PM and it is in the outbox at the moment

I sent one to myself and it was in the outbox till I looked at it then it went to the sentbox

So now I know

the Sentbox means it has been read
