today i knocked the compression dial off the top right side leg of my rs reba, as it came off it pulled the circlip off as well as the small gold coloured top cap that sits on top of it all, i need some circlip pliers to reattach the circlip which will hold the dial in place which im going to get tomorrow so thats not a prob, what im worried about is the gold colored top cap that goes on top, does this just push in and thats it or is there more to it, ive never taken forks apart before so im a little edgy about doing so.
the forks still work perfectly, its just this top cap im bothered about.

any advice would be appreciated, thanks

is it just the cap that covers the internal floodgate adjuster rather than the external adjuster?

    just a push fit.

If it's an external adjuster, it'll have a grub screw on one side to lock it into place. IIRC it's 2mm. (but may be 1.5mm).
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  • The SLs have internal floodgate, the gold bit is a dust cover to keep gunge out. If you still have it, just push it back in.

As a side note to this, you may need to fit a +5mm headset if the adjuster fouls the downtube on your frame. You can get them from a few headset manufacturers.

or just swap the motion contol over to a one with a internal adjuster.

thats what i did with mu rebas and revalations. my revs now has external flood and friction compresion adjust while the rebas have remote adjustable poplock and internal floodgate.
