I'm looking for a bike to use during the week to improve my fitness and to help save petrol!

I've only got a small budget of around £250 max.

I'm looking for a flat bar road/hybrid bike, so far I've found this one - http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=70549

Brand names don't interest me, as long as it has rigid forks, skinny wheels and is as light as possible.

Any other options or better deals?

thanks,

Neil.

Just had a look - shame I couldn't do the "cycle to work" as I'm self employed.

But the cheaper model seems ok to.

being self emploied does not actually mean you can not do it. it just is maybe not as worth while.

i know other self emploied that have done it.

speedster is slightly lighter and has got 700x23c tyres. I've got a speedster, can recommend it. Never had any problems with it, very good bike - just goes on and on.

I must admit it does look nicer, and it is more towards my allocated budget - I just need to find a LBS in the Teesside/County Durham area, to try one on for size.
