Wet weather tyres
Hi.
My road bike has lived on a turbo in the spare room for well over a year (well used!). Anyway, I've entered a dualthlon this weekend and was wondering about tyres. At the moment it's got 20's on, but was wondering whether something else, probably wider, might be a better proposition. I'm willing to sacrifice outright speed for grip and confidence if it's wet.
Cheers!

I wait to be corrected but I think a wider tyre is more likely to skid in the wet as the larger contact area reduces pressure on the road - it is very easy to lock up fat tyres but very difficult to get narrow ones to slip under braking.
edit: by pressure I mean in terms of the contact with the road not psi of the tyre.0 -
the main thing is to avoid taking metalwork in the road at anything other than upright and straight ahead - these will catch out any tyre.0
