DH near (ish) to Swindon

Having passed my driving test I'm now able to find mountains! (not just the flat of Swindon). Having ridden leckhampton quite a lot now i want to try something a little more hardcore. Does anybody know any other good downhill near (ok quite near) swindon?? I was also thinking about bath downhill, cheddar (are those last two the same course?) and cwmcarn? Any advice about these and where would i find them - a postcode of street address will do i can multimap/gps it. I ride a stinky dee-lux so it shouldn't break (i hope it brakes though - see what i did there, sorry) but one of my friends may come on a hardtail, is that sensible?
