When I leave my bike in a garage, or pack it into a car is it best to turn the lockout on or off on the front forks?

    does not matter.

if it is a motion control RS fork read the info in the manual about posible oil movement and the cure.

Storage is something that I've always thought about.

With the many storage devices about, isn't a fair statement to say that bikes should also be stored upright?

There are many hooks available to store bikes vertically, but surely this isn't good for bikes with hydraulics (forks and brakes).

Theoretically I agree, as (with brakes) the hydraulics are under pressure constantly, however, Shimano do state that it's not recommended to turn the bike upside down because of the same reason.

the only issue with brakes is if they have been poorly bled and there is an air bubble under the diaphragm it can migrate into the system in wort case situations.

but there is no probs hanging by the front wheel.

Don't FAX Vans need inverting every so often if not being used?

Yes. To allow the bushing lube to coat the upper bushing, and replenish the foam rings under the wiper seals with lube.
Current Rockshox can benefit from this too.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  • I usually store my bike clamped by the seatpost on a work stand. Probably isn't too good for the post mind....
