Painting a carbon bike

I have an older Trek 5000 carbon bike that I am going to get repainted over the winter.Is there a certain type of paint that works best on carbon fiber and is it ok to have the frame sandblasted?

    do not have it blasted.

    wet and dry just to de gloos the old paint and then prime and paint as fiber glass.
