I've been looking at getting pair of deep rim carbon wheels for a while now. What i want to know is why you pay MORE than twice as much for a pair of Zipp 404s (they've recently gone up from £999 to £1250 a pair) as for a pair of HED Stingers. There only seems to be about 100g difference in weight and I had the impression that HED were pretty decent wheels.

No idea on price (well name of course) - I've got a set of 10 year old HED JETS so can vouch that they are fine wheels.

    The stingers look good !

I've also got a pair of HED jets the V60's and they're great and at £599 the pair much better value than the Zipps.

For £100 less buy Planet-X - same rim as the Stingers. Can't see how they can justify the increase in price on Zipps given the exchange rate changes in our favour. Buy 2 prs of P-X instead!
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
