Looking at getting some new forks for the XTC. Highly likely to get another set of REBA team's but naturally the idea of other forks has come up -

RC39 C-Type, R7's without the Snap Valve or some Fox forks.

Basically what would you recommend at 100mm travel?
Is there anything to make the Fox worth the extra couple of hundred over the Rebas?

Thanks.

The Fox are good forks, but I don't think are worth the extra over Rebas. Reba uis so good at what it does I ant think of a reason to spend more. I would stick to the Reba Racem the Team has a lighter crown (by 30g) which you pay a hell of a lot for.

You obviously don't know how big a tart I am if you think 30g wouldnt bother me

What are your opinions about the R7's or Pace forks?

I have the R7s predecessor, the Skarab, and so far no problems though a little flexy. The 30mm stanchions should be better, but Manitou are so hit and miss with production, it can be a lottery whether they work!

As for Pace, stiffness to weight is superb, and thats all I really know af them from 1st hand experience. Again they have some production problems, but the new DT ownership should help. Lighter than Rebas, much stiffer than SIDs, certainly an option!

How about Reba World Cup?! Nice carbon crown and steerer!

You tell me to get the Race over the Team yet encourage me to go for the WC?!

I've got a set of 06 R7 Platinum which work excellently but they Snap Valve SPV can be very off putting as anyone who has ridden them will know. I'm tempted to get the model down that doesnt have the Snap Valve in them so long as they work as well.

Pace I think have been totally ruled out for a few years until I get solid reports about the reliability which is a shame for such nice forks but i'm interested greatly in next years Pace and Manitou forks to see what comes of them.

That could be a very costly thing for you to do!
