Headset sounds, well, er, dry!

After some serious muddy rides lately, when I turn the bars, the headset sounds dry.
I'm not really sure which headset it's got as it was fitted to the bike from new, all I know is that it's a Ritchy Semi Intergrated one.
Can it be greased by just removing the fork? These fang-dangled headsets are new to me.
