Im looking at the claud butler olympus xt 2006 or the Specialized Rockhopper Comp Disc 2007.
What would be best out of these two or does anyone have any better recommendations?
Cheers.

Spesh Rockhopper 2004 - 20120 -
I suppose good fame = good upgrade options!

GT Avalanche Expert, Trek 6700, Genesis Altitude, Giant XTC0

What would your preference be? Plus its going to be hard for me to try anything as I live so far from everything so i need to get it as right as I can.0

I like the GTs for harder riding, and the Treks for more XC based stuff. Great frame.
Have a look at the Boarman bikes in Halfords too.0 -
I was kinda leaning towards he rockhopper but this gives me more to look at!
I'm 5 foot 9 and currently have an 18 inch bike which does me perfect. Would i be best to go for a 17 or 19 inch frame if i cant get an 18?0 -
Hard to say! Have to say the 17 to be on the safe side, thoug Spesh does come up small. Its a risk not trying them.0

Yep I'd have thought the 17''. Depends on the manufacturer. My 05 Rockhopper pro is 19'' and I'm 6'2. I too think it seems smaller than other 19s I tried before.0

just under 5'9" here and i'm on a merlin 17" so yeah 17" would prolly be good for you. for £800'ish you could get a merlin bike, they've got a 20% off on all bikes till the end of july0

Yeah i think ill go for the 17". I'd prefer the bike to be slightly small than slightly too big! I'd find it a bit more agile.0

rockhoppers are fantastic this year. Don't wait til the 08 models thought. Not as good spec next year.0
