pivot bearing issues

hello all.
i ride a santa cruz blur lt (06) and it seems to have developed some play (around 2-3mm) at the base of the rear shock where it meets the frame. any ideas what this might be and is is safe enough to ride on with out doing any serious damage. i do intent to get it sorted but just not imediatly

Is everything assembled correctly ? If so it sounds like your shock bushings are worn.
