yes got one in nov last year
have used it for racing and long leisure events
great frame and you cant go wrong with ultegra
saddle seatpost and bars are excellent
only problem i have had is breaking 3 spokes in back wheel dont know if I was unlucky
I would recommend the bike to anyone
let me know if you want any specific questions answered0 -
how light is the bike? I'm thinking about getting it on cycle2work if you did that how long did it take to arrive?BMC TM01 - FCN 0

I havent weighed bike but it is about 17-18lbs
I dont have any pics to access here but the latest on on the planet x site is very realistic
my wheels where silver rimmed whereas the current ones are black which I think looks better0 -
now i have to decide whether i want that or to wait for the 08 bianchis... decisions decisions! i genuinely dont know which one id prefer nowBMC TM01 - FCN 0

go with your heart
one good feature of px was you could spec cassette size bar widths and stem lenghts and brant is really good at customer service0 -
brant is excellent ive already been in contact, replying to my emails within minutes! i genuinely dont know which i want to get, the 08 bianchis are not even out yet or released on their website to see... they may come out and be disgustingly ugly but ive wanted a bianchi for a long time, but the lure of a carbon bike is quite difficult to turn away!BMC TM01 - FCN 0

I got one earlier in the year when the Mega-value build was on 105 rather than Ultegra.
Mine is a large and is 8.3kg without pedals.
Its a cracking bike in every respect except for the wheels which are light but flex a bit on rough stuff and going hard up hill - some people like the comfort of a bit of flex but I prefer a really rigid wheel. I'm not mega heavy at 70kg, so its not a question of rider weight.
I'd say buy one and with the money saved against a 2008 Bianchi, get some nice wheels and keep the originals for training etc. That's unless that Bianchi turquoise colour does something weird to the rational part of your brain...0 -
thats the problem the colour makes me weak at the knees... i just dont know what to doBMC TM01 - FCN 0

Would the Planet X Carbon Pro make a good sportive bike?
I currently ride an Allez and am looking for something that'll help me go a little faster...Rich0 -
I have the Dura Ace build - excellent machine, mine, as from last Saturday, now has Mavic Kyserium ES wheels - which are great - acceleration is very quick now! Wasn't too bad before either. Photos of the bike with the old wheels on the link below.http://www.fachwen.org

to richa..the only way youll get faster is to train harder mate.you need to get some squats done in gym and get those miles in regardless of the bike wether it is a de rosa daft dollar or a raleigh chopper0
-
unfortunately zoggz i am buying my new bike on the cycle2work scheme so no second hands for me this time! good luck with the sale thoughBMC TM01 - FCN 0

Is the Planet X a particularly light/heavy bike?Rich0
-
its a carbon bike, make of that what you want.
i really cant decide whether i want this or a bianchi. And the guy in my LBS couldn't pick which one he would buy either! All he said was find out how strong the carbon fibre frame wasBMC TM01 - FCN 0

The PlanetX is quite light but not a feather weight - it's a tad lighter than the Focus Cayo so a winner at its price point in my eyes.
Carbon fibre frames have been reliably strong for a while now, so long as you don't drop them on a curb or something (they are a bit brittle).0 -
Any tips on how the sizing works out?
Being 5'11" not sure if I would be in for the medium or large size.0 -
Riddoch,
I sent Andy at planet-x-bikes.com an email asking what size I would be and he was really helpful. Hopefully getting one of these when my company starts up the scheme again next month._______________________

Which wheels are those? Are they Reynolds Alta Comp or the Planet X B or C wheels?
Anyone got the Planet-X wheels either B or C?0
