Rim Life
Bought a Thorn Brevet a year ago almost to the day. Comes with SUN CR18s on Deore hubs. Fine, but after some 2500 miles hauling the pork over the Pennines and commuting daily and all in all weathers, the rim wear indicators are just about gone!
Was thinking about upgrading sometime soon anyway but surely......touring rims wearing out before its time for a new block and chain....!
Read what Chris Juden had to say on the subject - interesting. In a former cycling life I had some Mavic M3CDs which lasted the life of the bike!
Any comments?

I had those rims for a while but got car doored and replaced them with Mavic touring rims which I believe are higher quality. 2500 miles doesn't sound much for a touring rim though. I probably did a bout 4000 on my rims.0
