A friend is buying a bike through the cycle to work scheme. It has to be from Halfords.
Are there any stores in London that stock bikes that aren't from their standard range.
For example Specialized or Condor?

Judging from a number of posts on the old C+ site, Halfords will source bikes from wherever you want (can't find a link on the old site).

Tax Free Bikes with Cycle2Work scheme

    Here's how it works
You agree to sacrifice a part of your gross salary and, in return, Halfords will provide you with a brand new bike (and any cycling safety equipment), for you to commute to work on, and for leisure purposes. By sacrificing part of your salary, you save VAT, Tax and National Insurance that would otherwise have been payable by you. You are also able to spread the cost of the bike and cycling safety equipment over a period of [e.g.]12 months though payroll deductions.

How do I choose a bike?
Visit your nearest Halfords superstore. To locate this, access http://www.halfords.com and go into the Store Locator. Type in your home postcode and you'll get details of your nearest superstore. At the store, you will be able to view and get advice on the full range of Halfords bikes. You can also ask to view the store's 'Sold to Order' Bike Catalogue, which contains the full portfolio of Halfords bikes and equipment. The Halfords website only contains a limited selection of bikes, so visiting a store is the best option.

Are only Halfords bikes on offer?
No. You can choose from the widest range of bikes available in the UK. For example, if you wish to get a Trek, Specialized or Giant which is not stocked by Halfords, and you know the model you require, call the Halfords call centre on 08700 660511. They will be able to tell you if they can source the bike for you and how much it will cost to do so. Once you have been issued with your Letter of Collection they will be able to order the bike for you.

I have a reduced voucher scheme through work (run by xexec).

They will reduce halfords bikes by 15% (or 10% on a sale price). Boardman bikes are reduced by 10%.

They will not source any other makes (according to the lady on the phone). Maybe they do a wider range for the ride-to-work scheme !!!!

Halfords can't get you a Brompton.
