Todays rest day is mainly flat with a slight climb back to the hotel for the riders after their morning spin.

There will be lots of eating and massaging action on the Col Ibis, although expect Discovery to make a move on the Cote de Best Western.

Iban Mayo will save his tour by winning the snooker competition in the Saunier Duval hotel, beat JJ Cobo in a tense final.

David Millar will go out into the hotel grounds and play swingball with fellow brit Geraint Thomas.

Breaking news..........................Vinokourov has launched a suicidal breakaway attempt to be the first down to breakfast at the Astana hotel this morning and snaffle up all the museli

I'd quite like to know who from outwith the Tour De France race and management will be visiting the riders hotels today and with what...or where certain top riders might be driving to to spend their rest day. That's my attitude. I hope journos are sitting with their telescopes on certain team hotels/cars...rider movements

It could be as exciting as a race day. Bike Radar should have a 'Hotel Raider' feed!

Not much if his interview on ITV4 last night is anything to go by.

As a Johnny-come-lately to the whole road racing lark I've totally missed the Astana allegations of doping, though know that Vino is linked with that dubious Dr.

I for one am a little confused by his amazing performances one day - terrible breakdowns the next. I guess yesterday he was left to race up front as he presents no threat to the leaders.

Can someone fill me in on the man-in-black allegations?

This is classic Vinokourov - he did it in 2005, for example, when he blew up on the climb to Courcheval and then won over the Galibier the next day.

Recent events answer your question I think! Welcome to the gory world of pro cycling (or should that be "your welcome to it, I no longer want it"!

Rest day it may be, but Vino is on a mission to give us headlines one way or another.

Hmm I'm amazed its a real kick in the teeth really, theres always that nagging suspicion but to see it confirmed is bad.
