What is the difference between a 180mm disc brake rotor and a 160mm disc brake rotor? Would I be able to use the 180mm on the front wheel and the 160mm on the back work wheel or can they not be used together?

Thanks

Use 180 mm rotor on front wheel (as it becomes too hot when descending a lot - i've touched it once and had some kind of scald on my hand). I've got 160 mm rotor and NEVER lost breaking power even when stopping from 50 km/h in mountains. Use 180+ mm rotors only if you are sure that 160 mm is not enough. On the other side - extra 50 g of weight is not the reason.

If you're not buying a complete 180mm brake kit but upgrading to a larger rotor, then you'll need a +20mm adapter.

You can either get a rotor/adapter kit (EBC do one) or one of the many aftermarket +20mm adapters.
