V-Brake and Cantilever

At the moment I have Shimano V-brakes fitted to my MTB, but wondered whether Cantilever brakes (centre-pull) would fit the existing fork bosses?
If they would fit is there any advantage of having centre-pull brakes over V-brakes?

no benift no improvement and new parts needed if they would actually work."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I agree and if I were to choose one over the other I'd go with VbrakesNorco Sasquatch '07 - Parts?.. break'em and replace'em0

Thanks for the responses, my reason for asking was that I had been reading a cycling magazine review on a touring bike and it was fitted with cantilever (centre-pull) brakes.
Oh, I admit to winning a rear set of these brakes on eBay for 99p, might make a handy paperweight!

and cantilever (center pul) were superceded by V (linear pull) brakes in about '95.
99p you was robbed."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

as the levers are not cross compatable, V to canti and visa versa things can get ecpensive if you have to change everything.
also there are very few sus forks that will work with cantis and the ones that will work tend to be very low end. (going back to your first post)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
