New Road Shoes

Yes, I made a big mistake and ordered shoes online (LOOK AP447). I have ridden about 80+ miles on them and they hurt like mad on the outer sides of my feet...

1. Any suggestions for new shoes which are forgiving on wide feet..

2. Can anyone recommend a Bike Store where I can go and try them on for comfort.

3. I live in Slough, however my job enables me to travel in and around the M25, so I am not just limited to my own area.

4. My budget is up to £120

Yes, as a new boy I have learnt from this mistake and will avoid buying shoes (and other clothing items) online and on the cheap without trying them on first for comfort.

Please help !

Regards

I'm a big fan of specialized shoes - they are renowned for having a wider fit with a slightly larger toe box than others. I just have the basic 'sport road' shoes, but even the carbon comps are the same fit. very nice - sidi by comparison are renowned as a narrow fit.

Another vote for Specialized BG Comp - Evans or other...around about £85 I think. Try on one size larger than you think you are - comfy shoe for a wider foot.

Another vote for Specialized here too. My LBS also recommended one size larger than my normal shoe size.

If you are going around the M25 then go to Geoffrey Butlers in Croydon - they have a wide selection inc Specialized to try.

Another vote for Specialized! I also ordered some Shimano 215 (I think) wide, but the toe end cuts in sharper at the inside edge.

    I'm a size 10 and I order 46 in the specialized.

Another vote for Spesh BG Comps. They are very comfy with just the right amount of rigidity. Glad that I bought them in a shop - the sizing seems to be a little different to my other shoes.

Link? Not that I need new shoes, my spesh BG comps are fine. Always like a bit of bike porn though ;)
