Does anyone have any info on this fork, it's the stock one that came with the Avalanche 1.0, it's a rebrand of some sort. Mag lowers and aluminium steerer if I remember correctly. The compression damping and lockout works quite well, aside from the softish spring I quite like the action on it in all honestly.

Does anyone know a rough weight of these forks? Lots of people seem to have swapped them out, has anyone tried weighing them? :)

I'm trying to shave weight from my Stumpy custom thing as I shave weight from myself, it's either replacing the Specialized own seatpost + Speed V seat next or sticking a Reba/Recon on next.

(It's the fork in the second 2 pics in my profile btw. Oh and some Xpedo pedals are in the post now before anyone comments on those pedals, my ancient Shimano PD-M515's have seized up :()

Yeah, it's not listed as apparently it's mysteriously one of the other models rebranded, they seem to use very similar externals for most of their forks unfortunately so it's a bit hard to see. I'm Guessing at the XCR-LO as I say though, they all look like that.

in a recent issue of mbr, they said the X100's are exclusive to that gt model, and since the Avalanche 1.0 was up against similar bikes with similar forks, the X100's will probably weigh (give/take a bit) the same as Rock Shox dart 2's, RST Gila T5's, or Suntour XCR's. i think....

Oh, and the X100 has 32mm stanchions, the XCR has 30mm, not to mention the fact the XCR is used on the model below. Scratch that idea :)

Ah well, maybe I should just rip them out and weigh them myself. I'm far too curious.

Edit: After finding a few foreign threads and translating them it's apparently a Suntour Raidon fork, SF8-Raidon Lo I think. Seems to match the specs.

If there the forks that come of the 07 avalanche then i have a set sitting in my shed. I only have a set of bathroom scales, other wise I would weigh them for you...

Yeah, they're the ones, lots of people seemed to have remove them so I thought it was worth a shot. Cheers anyway :)

When taking them of, all though this is very rough, holding them, they seemed not much different between them and the rockshox revelations I put on. I remeber being quite suprised. I tried weighing them and guess there around the 4pound mark? (bathroom scales) i don't know if this is any help. Never ridden them though.

Ah cheers, yeah I didn't think they were too bad, on paper they look like they should be fairly light apart from being coil spring. I did swap them over to a new frame as well so really should have checked.

Good choice with the Revelations too :) Got some on my other bike and they're awesome!
