Just looking at my online statements and over the last month I have gone 40p over my overdraft once, had one direct debit bounce because of this, which then landed me a 25 quid charge, which then put me out of my overdraft by 15 quid after my direct debit came out, which then gave me another 25 quid charge, I wasn't aware of any of this, as it takes a few days for it to be updated on cash machines, went out, spent 30 quid got a 50 quid charge and now they're charging me double for late payment, I.E. 100 quid for 40p

HMMMMMM

Fucking HSBC they're all cunts.

As far as i'm aware, these charges are no longer aloud by banks. There are companys who will recover unreasonably high bank charges (for a fee I asume)

    Might be worth looking into?

Go into the bank and talk to the manager, most of the time they can lift the charges for you there and then.

Yes, Scubar is right. These charges are generated by machines - if you talk to the Manager 9 times out of 10 they will see sense. If they don't lodge a claim in the small claims court to refund unreasonable charges.

Use that link, its worth it, one of my friends set up his own business and got into a lot of debt in the first couple of years and ran up a lot of charges. Because of this rule he was able to sort through all of his business accounts and claimed back a absolute heap of money :D

It's no co-incidence that the first syllable of 'Barclays' is also the first syllable of 'B@$tards'!

    :P
There's always one more idiot than you bargained for.
  • HSBC give you a £10 buffer which they won't charge you for if you go over your overdraft limit. 40p would have no effect. Besides, HSBC charge in multiples of £20. Getting carried away with your whinging?

What you want me to prove it?

And no, they don't have a buffer, and it's 25 quid each time.
