Has anyone any experience of Rapha fit fir girls?

my g/f is anti-synthetics to a frankly frightening degree....so rides in cotton T-shirts. I thought something from Rapha might be a good bet as a special present.

However.. how do they fit? She's about 5'10 with quite broad shoulders for a girl, but slim - about a 34" chest I'd expect (size 10). Would a "small" go up to that height, or would medium be safer - or too baggy?

Cheers

I'm not saying pedestrians in Hackney are stupid.. but a fixed bayonet would be more use than a fixed gear...

    You wag FF.

    In my experience Rapha kit is long in the body so a small may be long enough. They do have a quite detailed page on fit on their website;

    http://www.rapha.cc/index.php?page=6

Also, if the item you've ordered doesn't fit then they do free returns and the service is usually very quick.

I bought my partner the long sleeve base layer in Medium and it's fine. She is 5ft 8 and @36 chest/size 12

The few bits of Rapha kit I've seen and worn wouldn't fit most women very well.... it all depends on build of course. Most of their stuff is very tailored so isn't likely to be a unisex type fit. Given how expensive it is, it doesn't seem worth getting something like that unless its a very good fit.

Although they don't do pure biking kit, Howies do excellent merino tops and base layers in pure merino for girls - www.howies.co.uk.

Also worth looking at are Groundeffect - www.groundeffect.co.nz - they do excellent value merino. I don't know about their womens sizing, but groundeffects mens kit is very much cut on the big side.

I think Swobo (mostly sold via www.stif.co.uk) also do very nice womens merino cycling tops.

I hate to advocate drugs, violence or insanity to anyone, but they\'ve always worked for me.\' Hunter S. Thompson

    That Groundeffect site is amazing!!!

Is the VAT paid at the post office when the delivery is made along with the £8?

Even so that is some price for Merino.

    Groundeffect looks cool....

But Swobo looks the way to go - they even have her favourite baby blue! Bless....

Just be aware that some merino stuff is a mixture of wool and synthetic - Rapha's Sportwool is a good example of this.

The mixture works from a performance point of view but, if your girlfriend is anti-synthetic, then you will want 100% wool.
