will 10spd deraillers work on a 9spd set up

hi ive a 9spd set up on the bike tiagra shifters but have been offered some new 10spd 105 mechs will they work ok on a 9speed setup? ta

    The 10 speed mech has a slightly narrower jockey wheel cage, so running a 9 speed chain might be a bit noisy in certain gear combos - you might want to run a 10 speed chain which will be fine on the 9 speed cassette.
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    would a 9 speed front mech be ok too? if i used a 10speed chain??

    Should be ok, I use a 10 speed 105 rear mech on a 9 speed flat bar set up with no problems at all.

    Should be fine. I use 10spd Ultegra mechs with a 9spd chain/cassette/chainset.
