Clipless pedals Q to float or not?

If you were going to buy your first set of clipless pedals would you go for cleats with float or fixed??

I have only ever used traditional clips and straps.

always go for cleats/pedals with float. Fixed will/can cause knee trouble after a while.

Float as you also have more room for error when setting up the foot angle, plus the natural movement of your knee won't always be the same each stroke.
