Cleaning advice for desert conditions

Been getting a bit of conflicting advice both off net and from people here about keeping my new standard US spec Hawk Hill in good nick. I am in the desert, trails are about as dusty as you could possibly imagine, 40+ deg C and blindingly sunny. I just wondered what advice you could give me about cleaning/caring for bike in these conditions as I am much more used to north-west UK mud and rain. Lube pre-use or after or both ?, which bits every time ? which bits less frequently ? and how (spray on/wipe off?), hosing down after every ride ? in sun (drys faster) or in shade ? Where to lube ? which lube ? (got a can of pedros extra dry with the bike).
Thanks 4 any help.

Lube your chain and mechs, After the ride give your biuke a very thorough clean, clean the chain again, clean the mechs , wipe down the rotors. if you have a presure washer that would be a help to remove all the loose sand from getting in your parts.
