Fork upgrade - worth the cash ?

Am currently running 2006 MX Comps on my 05 Hardrock. They are 105mm air sprung and have been maintenance free BUT with no lockout or compression adjust they blow through the travel when braking and bob horribly when out of the saddle. I have considered upgrading to the Marxocchi XC500 but have also considered Rockshox whether its Recon, Revelation or Reba. The frame is advised to use with a 100mm fork but I guess I could get away with a U-turn model using the extremes of the fork settings on steep uphills/downhills. The big question is will I notice much improvement over the comps with 1 of these forks (up to a max of c.250 quid). For the money I`m talking i think the more expensive Rockshok models would be coil sprung u--turn models only. I would like to upgrade - but only if its worh the return - i really liked the Marzocchi - post-mounts as per my current set up but with the TST adjust or should I hold out for longer, save up and spend more on a different type of fork ?

tbh you will not notice that much difference.
what you cloud look at is getting your forks upgraded with an ETA? and a service?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Absolute bargain, much nicer forks than what you currently have. I had MZ Comps come on my Marin Hawkhill and when i switched over to the Recon 351s i noticed a big difference in the way the bike handled and absorbed the bumps. Much stiffer and better rebound.___________________________________________________________

To be fair, the MX Comp is a significantly better fork than the MZ Comp your bike had, so doubt difference as vastBoardman HT Comp 2012>
