How to stop brakes rubbing??

Just picked up the bike after its first service and, when I got it home, thought I detected a bit of rubbing on the back brake pads. I took it for a ride and there is indeed some rubbing. Because I don't want to have to wait until Monday to get back to the shop, is there something easy that I can do to rectify the problem? One side is sitting against the rim, but there's enough clearance on the other one, so I need to straighten them up somehow or other.
All help much appreciated, so that I can get out tomorrow!
Thanks.

On top of the brake caliper you will see a small allen bolt . Get an allen key ( Its a 2mm key ) and turn the bptl . You should see the caliper move from side to side depending what way you turn it . Just turn it until you ave the same clearance from brake block to rim for either side0

Before you adjust anything - Check to see if the wheel is sitting centrally in the drop outs and also that the brake cableing run is not distorted some where (are you running V brakes or another type?).Colin N.

Thanks. Yep. Everythin, apart from the rubbing, seems to be ok. The brakes are Shimano dual pivot callipers.
I found this earlier and it looks straightfoward enough.

Safe to give it a go, do you think?0 -

Thanks for all the advice. Had a go and managed to make more of a shambles of it. So I'll be calling at the bike shop today. I'm interested now in who does their own repairs ... can feel a new thread coming.0
