hi, as some of you will probably know from reading the forums im thinking of buillding a custom giant stp, i quite like the look of the Hayes Disc Brakes HFX-9 HD but the only rotor size ive seen is 8" and i was wondering if they would be too big or would they be ok?

Not sure - its a very big rotor for the rear of a bike, usually for DH bikes. I'd contact a Giant dealer or the importer (or wait for nick to post!)0

ok then lol, what size of rotors should i be looking for 6" ?0

I would stick with a standard 160mm disc for the rear, maybe 180 on front.0

ok do you know if can i could get the Hayes HFX-9 HD's in that sizings ??0

Pretty sure its 8 inch only. Why not look at the HFX XC, some good deals on them, or the Deore? Deore is a superb brake!0

after having another look throught the brakes on CRC i think im going to go for the avid juicy carbons lol

the hd is the same brake as the xc. the only difference is the rotor size. For an stp you need the hayes hfx xc brake.geo0
