Planning on buying a full suspension bike for single track trail riding (mostly Leith Hill, Surrey) for £1000-£1500 .
Like the look of the 2007 Specialized FSR XC Pro.
Would this be a good option for the type of riding I do?
Are there any other bikes in my price range that I should also consider?
When and where am i most likely to find this bike in the sales (ie when the 2008 bikes are out)?
Should I stick to hardtail riding???!

Hardtail/ full suss is only a decision you can make! Does your current bike let you down in any way?
Also take a look at the Trek Fuel EX6, Mongoose Canaan and Gt Idrive 50 -
I was interested in the same bike a while back but now i personally wouldnt bother with the FSR XC, Although it looks lovely the spec isnt that great and its not that light, how about the Trek Fuel EX6 as thats got better spec stuff on it, also the same price.

You'd get a Stumpy Comp for £1495, cracking bike for the money. Pro pedal shock as well.0

Not keen on the Trek as there is not a frame size that fits me. I'm just under 6 foot and the 17.5 inch is too small and the 19.5 inch too big!
Thanks for the other suggestions. What about the Spec Epic FSR Comp?
Not really needing a bike that can take huge hits. Only trails and the occasional smallish (2/3 foot jumps/drops).0 -
19.5 inch comes up smaller than it sounds, its actual size is more around 18" you should definately go and test ride one if you can as i found the pivot system it uses far more effective than the specialized rear shock.
if your doing drops i would stay away from the epicl, you will most likely destroy the rear shock and frame doing any type of drop on that bike, looks fantastic though.
Like RockHopper said the Stumpy Comp is good spec, a Size M would probably be ideal if you just under 6'0, im 6'0 and the M felt pretty good although i didnt like the feel of it when cornering as it felt very sluggish i also dont like SRAM shifters.___________________________________________________________
