Camagnolo Veloce mini Vs and STI levers....don't bother

There have been a few threads recently reporting that Campagnolo Veloce V brakes work with STI levers. It has been suggested that this is because of the short arms of the callipers mean that not so much cable needs to be pulled compared to regular V brakes.
I therefore bought a set to replace my Avid cantilever brakes which I use with Ultegra STI levers. This setup worked but braking performance was always poor. Unfortunately the Campag V brakes are even worse ! Even with the pads running a fraction of a mm from the rims the travel at the lever is large and the brakes are very spongy. Braking power is reasonable but the feel of the braking is awful and the setup needs adjusting frequently to keep the pads close to the rim. I've just changed back to the cantilevers.......what a waste of £35.

That may well be why Campag made Flat bar Ergos with two different lever geometries...one for use with dual pivots and one for use with their V brakes.
I'd rather walk than use Shimano

Not an expert on this, never used them personally, but have you thought about trying one of those pull adjusters?

May not be applicable to the Campag brakes but I run Shimano V-Brakes with Xenon ergos and they are powerfull enough to have you over the bars....,have you got the thicker/wider spacer next to the pad, this changes the way the arms sit,at first I had the narrow/thin spacer next to the pad and the brakes were rubbish,as I say it might not be the same for Campag but worth a look to save £35.

If you speak German, you should look at the Tour Magazin forum. There are lots of threads there about it. Maybe it takes a lot of fettling.
