Play developed in Race Face cranks

I've noticed my Race Face Evolve XC cranks have developed a bit of a wobble. They're not about to fall off but I can feel 1-2mm of play when pedalling and it's probably only going to get worst. The cranks came with my P7 and I haven't needed to touch them in the 500 miles or so it's done over the past year. I've tried to tighten the crank bolt with an 8mm hex but it's already tight. Both of the bearing cups also seem steadfast. Grateful for any pointers.

I take it this is the ISIS version of the crank? Most likely the bottom bracket bearings are worn. Its a non servicable unit so will need replacing.0

Join the club, seems the x type bottom bracket bearing life isn;t very good. Mine only lasted 6 months too.
2 options,
1) buy another set of race face bearings off ebay (about 20 quid) or CRC (35 quid)
2) buy a set of XT bearings (about 40 quid a set) as they are a part for part fit.
I've just bought another set of raceface ones, but if these die after 6 months I'm going to try the XT ones instaead0 -
Crikey, new bearings already? It's the X-Type rather than ISIS if that makes any odds.0

Lol, actually both systems have their problems. As above, a better bearing set is advisable. Hopefully your bottom bracket shell is correctly faced too.0

Gutted. Time to get rinsed out at the LBS.0

Unfortunately many bikes don't have the BB faces machined perfectly square, which introduces an uneven loading on the bearings from new. This can cause rapid premature bearing failure, especially in the ISIS and X-type BBS with smallish bearings.
Your LBS should be able to ream the BB faces flat and square using a special hand tool before fitting the new bearings.
