ok so im in need of some new DH/FR/trials wheels to replace my temp narrow xc wheels.
1) has to be cheep as poss
2) DH/FR/trials dont matter as long as they strong
3) hubs have to be disc compatible
3) does not have to complete wheelsets, can be in bits as i can put then together and give it to the shop and get them tensioned.
4) not sure if i want 24" or 26" im going to find that faq on wheel sizes and i'll get back to you guys.
i saw some guys with mod bikes doing tricks in town and i noticed that one guy had "no name" wheels with holes in between the spoke holes wouldn't mind something like that,
so recommendations, advice or options please

Deore hubs on 721 rims from Merlin, about 80 quid or so.0

thanks
works out to be £120 very tempting for the all black look not bad for handbuit considering halo combats are £135
if i was to build the wheel myself which of the following would you lot recommend?
for rims
dmr dv
atomlab gi dirt
for hubs
dmr revolver
halo spin doctors
shamano deore or other0 -
To be frank, most online builds work out cheaper than the parts alone! Plus the build is to of a very high standard, higher than I can do and I am an experienced mechanic.0

well im looking for the cheapest option, was hoping to get my local bike shop to supply and build the wheel0

hi
the shimano deore m525 disc is 9 speed compatible. can it work with an 8 speed cassette with an adapter of some sort?

As for the wheel, the LBS will probably be the most expensive option of all once you have factored in build costs. I work out the merlin Deore/321 build to be 88 quid.
8 speed cassettes have same overall width as 9 spd, will slide straight on.0 -
been to the oldest bike shop in leicester and got quoted £10 or 36spokes and 15 for 42 for a wheel build if i supply the bits
the price i got from merlin were for black rim and spoke option (i think it'll look good on my white frame) i already have the front hub from my current wheel
im going to have a looong think about this and have a look in a few bike shops before i make a decision
thanks for the advice0 -
