SR-SUNTOUR?

A friend has just bought a new 9speed SR_Suntour cassette. I didn't think they ever made 9speeds!
Can someone enlighten me please?

    looks like their 9spd are all MTB ratios.

    The old Suntour got up to 8 speeds with XC Pro. SR Suntour is the Taiwanese company formed out of some of Maeda's ashes. There stuff is designed to be Shimano compatible.

    Look for "Sunset for Suntour"....

    now that was an interesting read.
