Tube size

Trying to understand tube size... Given a 700 X 20-28 tube, that means it fits anything between 20 and 28, right? How does that work then :?:

    Yep, you're right fits any tyre between 20 and 28, sorry don't know the physics of why it works.

    It's not too complicated - a tube can only sensibly stretch so much, so it's then given an upper limit. If you put it in a bigger tyre than this you run the risk of the inner tube splitting as it's over stretched. As for the lower limit, if the inner tube is too big there's too much there to physically get the tube in the tyre.

    All mentions of size above refer to cross-sectional area and width of tyre - not diameter of the wheel
    Has the head wind picked up or the tail wind dropped off???
