Time trial - Cardington bedford
Hi,
I did a 10 mile ride (the cycle leg of a sprint triathlon) the other week in 31m 30 (including the transition to the run) which I was quite pleased with.
I'm thinking of attempting a time trial and I'm aware of some local to me in Cardington nr Bedford. Anyone know where I can get details of these? I tried searching for details (google as well as CTT) but haven't uncovered anything.
Are there any others around the Bedford/MK area that are beginner friendly?

Icknield Road Club - hold evening TT's through the Summer every Tuesday night - HQ at Silsoe Village Hall - see list of events and start times on our "News" page at www.ccluton.com/news.htm
Beds Roads CC - I think theirs is every Thursday evening - HQ at their clubhouse in Cardington
Hitchin Nomads - also do an evening series, which seems to move around a bit - also on a Thursday I think
North Bucks RC - haven't ridden one of theirs in years, but it used to be on a Wednesday and HQ was their club room (well, shed actually) near the Open University in Milton Keynes0 -
Great thanks Bronzie.
Silsoe and Cardington are about the same distance for me, so both good. Do you know where the club house is in Cardington?
What is the Silsoe course? Are the Silsoe TTs beginner friendly?
North Bucks may be interesting too, I work in MK.0 -
Beds Road CC website contact page with club room address here:

Their club room is pretty easy to find - Cardington is a small village and people milling around in Lycra is always a talking point for the locals.
The Icknield are a very friendly bunch (I'm 2nd claim there) - the course they use varies but it's generally up and down the A507 Ampthill to Clophill bypass. Drop into the village hall on a Tuesday and introduce yourself - they have a club night there every Tuesday in the non-racing season as well - nice cakes.0 -
Thanks again Bronzie, I know Cardington pretty well that's why I couldn't think where they meet as there pretty much aren't many places to meet!
Time to negotiate with the OH, as Monday and Wednesdays are my usual nights out for exercise (running club), while she gets out Tuesday and Thursday.0 -
The BRCC club room is an old hall - Streetmap link - on the road to Old Warden, about 200m from the junction where the pub is.
They actually own the building I think and keep loads of club kit there (turbo trainers etc) which is pretty cool as they have group turbo sessions in the Winter!0 -
cool thanks. I Know the place, I've gone past there a few and wondered what it was!0
