Hmm like hanging a 5kg weight on the end of a 10cm long wrench?

    I don't think that's right.

    1 Newton is approximately 0.1Kg.
so, for 5Nm, (this may not be right either) what you need is a 0.5kg weight on a 1metre wrench.
    which would work out as...

    hmm, 5 kilos on a 10cm wrench.
hmm, okay, ignore this post! .

If you're using a 4mm Allen key, use only one finger on the end and watch the allen key. As soon as it starts to bend, you're tight enough. I've honed this technique from rotor bolts. I do have a torque wrench, I just can't be bothered to use it every time.

You can now get special torque limited allen key holders that are set at 5nm, do a google on them. They are not that expensive, around a tennder which is better than replacing broken carbon parts!
