What ever happen to summer?

I was surprised this morning to find myself cycling into a NE wind, not what I would expect in the middle summer! Still is was only 10mph so it didn't hold me up to much. And there was space in the bike shed, only about 20 bikes today, can get over 30 when the fair weather cyclist come in.

No better over here on the west coast!
Why is it when I'm sailing, there's no wind and when I'm cycling, there's always a headwind?
Last night we sat for an hour on the Gareloch in a dinghy praying for the slightest breath to fill the sails - nothing. Then this morning cycling to work there's a moderate headwind all the way in - which will of course have reversed direction in time for cycling home tonight!
The rain I can handle (I was raised on Shetland!), just wish the wind would play ball for once!0 -
