Hi,
Ive bought some Rudy Project Rydon's and am waiting for the insert from GoSportSpex.
They seemed about the cheapest aroubd for these. Local optician wanted £320 for a similar combination..... :shock:Cheers

Try these people http://www.optilabs.com/ they do all sorts of sports prescription sunglasses I'm sure they can find you something. I have a pair of their cycling glasses and they also replaced the regular lenses in my Oakleys with prescription ones, great service.'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0

Why not just get some regular sunglasses with prescription lenses?
I have a set of Bolle shades that are like a 'bad-ass biker' wrap-around shape. They do teh job very nicely.John Stevenson0 -

Surely that's 664 and 668? 665 would be across the road from the beast.John Stevenson0 -
Can I not live across the road AND be neighbourly to him?'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0

I use contact lenses with close fitting (cheap  ) riding glasses.
No problems so far, even with half a pound of good'ol English gloop in my face

i just use contact lenses (need to wear them with riding glasses otherwise they can come out at 50mph though)
Although i've always been tempted with getting prescription Oakley's, they just don't seem worth the huge price..........................

Optilabs (see previous post) do a great service for £130. Send them a photocopy of your prescription and your glasses arrive within a day or so. Tesco Opticians are doing sports glasses with prescription lenses for £45. Can't vouch for them but it must be handy to reorder a pair or lenses when you're in for the groceries. Plus, if you lose them or break them and that's more than a distinct possibility, you've not thrown away a week's wages.0

I need Varifocals for riding, my long sight is OK, but for looking at maps and the bike computer I need reading lenses, and swopping glasses whist out riding is a pain. I was replacing my glasses anyway, and found that Specsavers are doing a 'free' second pair. So I chose some normal rimless varifocals and a pair of 'Designer' sunglasses with photochromic varifocals for the free pair. A pretty good offer because prescription cycling glasses seem to cost a fortune.

thanks for the tip about optilabs they are sending me some samples. as for wearing normal specs whilst riding offroad all i can say is you cant have tried it they dont stay on your nose the frames and lenses get scratched to b*******ry and they steam up when its hot when its cold in fact every time you ride also if you have ever fallen off and bent your expensive metal frames and gouged your eyebrow youll know why i dont bother 8)Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0

Just to vouch for Optilabs. Having previously worn perscription oakleys with polarising lenses I wanted something cheaper and photochromic. Optilabs do the new ultra 2000 polarising photochromic lens that is clear enough to wear when in low-ish light then they darken in sun/cloudy conditions, then darken more in bright sunlight. http://www.optilabs.com/site/prods.php?pfid=0,9,34 They're aimed at drivers as normal photochromics don't react behind the windscreen ( the screen absorbs all the UV ) but seem bloody good for cycling as was the main reason I got them.
I still use contact lenses occaisonally as I can get them free from work!0
