Sprint Bonuses - the deciding factor?

I was wondering with this being such a close Tour on GC, whether the deciding factor may come down to the time bonuses gained for finishing in the top 3 on a stage. Valverde has already picked up 20 seconds from this due to being the best sprinter from the GC candidates and if it came down to it, he's perfectly capable for challenging for intermediate sprints and stage finishes in the flat stages after the Pyrenees.

It's certainly a possibility and Valverde always seems to have something left for a sprint at the end of the mtn stages. I recall him taking on Armstrong a couple of years ago at the end of mtn stage finish in the tour.

I think the TTs will be the decider. 110kms of the race of truth is a big distance.

It seems the favourites are well matched over the lumpy bits.
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

It'll come down to the Time Trials for me and the guy that does best in them and puts in one huge effort in one of the mountain stages will take it I think.

...........would be great though if the GC contenders had to duke it out on the Champs Elysees for the last time bonus with Boonen et al...................great to watch, but probably carnage
