Which Shoes & Pedals???

I'm use to some look road pedals and some very rigid road shoes on my road racer.
Which clipless is reccomended?
I was recommendedd Shimano M520 SPD Pedal, I like the look of the Crank Brothers Eggbeater C but can't find anywhere that has any fitted to a machine I can try out.
And what shoes to go with them?
I like the look of the Specialized BG TRAIL 110 SHOE, The Specialized Comp Mountain Shoe was reccomended. I've got quite wide feet and the specialized always seem a good fit. Any one got the shoes what do you think?
