anyone recomend me a decent crankset. heard the xt is pretty good but the chainrings are like swiss cheese. ride mainly trail centers and xc, to be fitted to a santa cruz blur.
any advice much appriciated.

    XT and some middleburn chainrings to go with it

    ill second that i run xt cranks and bb with middleburn rings. the middleburns constantly give smooth shifting and have lasted twice aslong as the xt ones already with no sign of dying. :wink:

    The 2008 XT comes with the same kind of rings as the top of the range XTR (same ideas, less expensive materials).

    cheers for the replys, well i went for the xt's in the end. despite the mechanic telling me i should run two rings up front.. gonna run em with the xt rings and eventually swap to middleburn. lookin forward to giving it a spank on sunday.
